Ian Watt: Hi Good Afternoon, it's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. I'm not a fan
of lockboxes. I don't think they service your clients very well and they certainly don't service your properties very well and it's certainly not a great marketing tool to use a lockbox and I don't use them. Most realtors in on the West side of Vancouver don't use them either. Do not illegal you can't use them. I'm not just a fan of them but here's something interesting that I did find out about lockboxes. You cannot put a lockbox on a tenanted property without the tenants approval. You have to make sure the tenant approves this because they don't know or they don't want other realtors walking in to a property and showcasing that property without their knowledge. Is a very interesting thing I never knew that you couldn't do that on tenanted properties without their approval. But if you are a tenant and your place is for sale. Make sure you understand this. They need your approval first. My name is Ian Watt and if you have any questions about tenanted properties and lockboxes etc. etc. You can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
