March Statistics for Real Estate in Downtown Vancouver

Ian Watt video blogs about the March Statistics for Real Estate in Downtown Vancouver and how there are some misleading numbers when you compare March 2010 to March 2009 to March 2008. Ian Watt: Hi Good Afternoon, it's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. The Real Estate Board release the stats for March and the very interesting as I've been blogging about for the last two weeks and right after the Olympics. The listings in Downtown Vancouver in general, in a Vancouver area have been shooting up considerably. They gone up over 50% since the Olympics. Which is pretty impressive there are a lot of listings out there in the Downtown core as I mentioned before. There always under a thousand for 2009 listings at one time, 2010 right now were about 1500. So that is pretty impressive, great time to be a buyer lot of selection out there. Now this is what I find very interesting. Now the prices they say have increased 20%. 20% from March 2009, however there only up 2.8% from 2008. It goes to show you what a bad year 2009 was as far as March was concern but the very interesting thing for me is the apartment sales. The apartment sales were increased 28% from 2009 but we are down 8.6% from 2008. Very interesting times in Downtown Vancouver as long as the mortgage rate stay low I'm sure we gonna see a lot of activity. But the selection and the opportunities for buyers right now are fantastic. My name is Ian Watt and if you have any questions. You can always email me atianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
