Rich Patterson : Hi! Welcome to ianwatt.ca. My name is Rich Patterson. Ian is asked me to do a guest video blog this week. I wanna talk to you about living in Downtown versus living out in the suburbs. My family and I have been back to Vancouver for about 2 years after living for 3 years in the suburbs and we absolutely love being back. And I don't want to be sound like a liason but for us being in the city is really about being close to our lifestyle where we live, where we work, our friends, our family, our curricular, extra-curricular activities, what we like to do. And I really ask challenge people out there to think about where you want to live and what does it fit for your lifestyle. I mean, I know one of the common arguments is well, cost living. The cost living in Vancouver is so expensive but really the cost of living anywhere in the lower Mainland is expensive. I mean my municipal taxes way higher than we were in Vancouver but things like gas and food. I mean its all the same. Its expensive of course. And the other thing is to think about is what's your time worth? I mean, if you're gonna spend 2 or 3 hours a day in a car round trip commuting, what could you be doing with that time? Spending time with families, doing some more work, earning more income. I mean the things that can be monotize or not monotize but definitely have value. So I really challenge people to think about what your lifestyle? Where would you like to live, work, play, be with family? And if Downtown is the answer, then just do it contact Ian Watt at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca . And see what he can do for you. Thanks and have a great day!
